MEET OUR FLORIST

Picture
Kelly Sutton - Ninness Florist
I would like to introduce myself as the “flower lady” behind many beautiful funeral tributes I have done for Ninness families over the years. My name is Kelly Sutton.

I have been a florist for 36 years, starting out as a 14 year old school girl working after school at a small florist in Gisborne (my home town) where I found my passion for flowers.

At 15 I left school to take up a florist apprenticeship learning all the basic floral techniques, many I still use these days (they call us old school florists)!

My love for doing casket sprays and wreaths for funerals was something I really enjoyed and learnt from the very best over my 5 years working there until my move at 20 to Wellington to take up a position at a well-established florist. I’ve never looked back having then opened my own shop in Queensgate Lower Hutt in 2005 till 2015. I now work from my home work shop serving Ninness families.

Funeral flowers are the last tribute you can make for someone, fitting of their life, something unique to them. Whether it be a vegetable spray, a cross or a casket spray of red roses, white lilies or a beach theme, I take immense pride in working with Ninness and their families to help bring some comfort with flowers and colours to those who have lost their loved one.

At the time Kelly is more than happy to call and discuss the families special requirements.
